The article takes a look at the legislation in New York to reassess the right of publicity in light of developments in deep fake technology. If passed, the bill would create civil liability for celebrity deep fakes and deep fake pornography.

The post takes a look at the recently introduced Defending Each and Every Person from False Appearances by Keeping Exploitation Subject to Accountability Act of 2019. If passed, the bill would create criminal penalties, civil liability, and a private right of action against those who fail to disclose or alter the disclosure on deep fakes.
