Bobby Desmond’s first radio experiences were as an announcer on WUFT-FM’s Radio Reading Service and as a jock on Rock104.com. His basic on-air duties included hosting the show while simultaneously running the soundboard, Adobe Audition, and Maestro radio automation programs. He logged over 200 hours of on-air experience during his time at the now defunct online radio station.
In January 2014, Bobby became an on-air personality on WYKS Kiss 105.3 FM. Every weekend, he hosted his own show using VoxPro and Simian software programs, and he produced remote broadcasts using Comrex and Marti systems. He also made personality appearances at the annual University of Florida Homecoming Parade in 2014 and 2015. His daily activities ranged from recording spots and commercials to operating the soundboard while taking requests, introducing songs, and administering contests. One year later, he was promoted to the weeknight shift Monday through Friday from 7 pm – 12 am.
He continued to work at the station throughout his first year of law school, logging over 1600 hours of experience. He left the position in April 2016 to pursue a legal internship at America’s Public Television Stations in Arlington, VA.
